Kerala Sets Stage for ₹3,500 Cr Genome City to Boost Biomanufacturing

Kerala is moving ahead with plans to develop its ₹3,500 crore ‘Genome City Kerala’ project, with an official announcement expected in early 2026. Modelled on Hyderabad’s Genome Valley, the initiative aims to establish a major integrated life sciences cluster.

The project will be launched at the Bio360 Life Science Park in Thonnakkal, near the state capital, and will cover a 60-acre site. It will house pharmaceutical and biotech companies, medical device manufacturers, and advanced research facilities.

The proposed cluster is expected to generate nearly 15,000 jobs and draw substantial investments from global life sciences and biomanufacturing firms.
