Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao has directed officials to prioritise strengthening the state’s healthcare infrastructure in the upcoming budget, underlining that no area should be deprived of access to health facilities.

Chairing a meeting to review budget preparations of the health, AYUSH and medical education departments, Rao emphasised the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping to ensure equitable distribution of health institutions and uniform access to quality healthcare across the state.

Officials during the meeting reviewed the existing status of health services, assessed infrastructure and staffing requirements, and discussed future plans, according to an official statement.

The minister emphasised that the state government has granted in-principle approval to upgrade the sub-health centre at Tain village in Nuh district into a Primary Health Centre (PHC). An expenditure of around ₹36 lakh has also been sanctioned for the deployment of necessary staff to ensure timely medical services for local residents.

She further highlighted that the approval has been accorded for setting up a new PHC at Khatodda village in Mahendragarh district, which will cater to the primary healthcare needs of surrounding rural areas.
