Over 800 health camps across Goa have provided free or low-cost healthcare services to more than 20,000 residents. The initiative reached both rural and urban communities, offering primary consultations, basic diagnostics and essential medicines.

These camps have reduced the need for residents, especially the elderly, women, and children to travel long distances for routine medical care. By delivering first-level medical support directly at the neighbourhood and village level, the outreach has expanded access to healthcare for thousands of Goans who previously faced barriers to timely treatment.

The campaign aims to strengthen primary healthcare infrastructure in the state and increase awareness about medical services available at the community level. Local health-care providers and volunteers worked together to screen patients, distribute medicines and conduct basic health checks including blood pressure, blood sugar and general health diagnostics.

These widespread community-based health camps can lead to earlier detection of illness, lessen pressure on larger hospitals and make healthcare more affordable and accessible for underserved populations. The successful camps in Goa are seen as a model for bringing healthcare closer to the people.
