Tandem Diabetes Care and Abbott to Co-Develop Integrated Glucose-Ketone Diabetes Solution

Tandem Diabetes Care, a leader in insulin delivery and diabetes technology, has announced a strategic agreement with Abbott to co-develop and commercialize an integrated diabetes management solution. This collaboration will combine Tandem’s advanced insulin delivery systems with Abbott’s upcoming dual glucose-ketone sensor, currently under development.

The new sensor aims to offer simultaneous glucose and ketone monitoring, helping people with diabetes detect early ketone elevations that can signal the onset of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)—a serious and potentially life-threatening complication. By integrating this future sensor with Tandem’s insulin delivery systems, the goal is to enable more informed, timely decisions for users, ultimately improving safety and clinical outcomes.
