Inari Medical, now a part of Stryker , has announced the launch of its next-generation InThrill Thrombectomy System, a groundbreaking solution designed specifically for small vessel and arteriovenous (AV) access thrombectomy.
Touted as the first and only purpose-built system for these applications, the InThrill system is engineered to deliver rapid, complete luminal clot removal, setting a new standard in the treatment of small vessel and AV access thrombotic conditions.
The second-generation system features an 8-Fr, over-the-wire design, consisting of the InThrill thrombectomy catheter and InThrill sheath. Built on a familiar platform, the system is optimized for performance, precision, and ease of use in vascular interventions.
Enhanced radial force for improved apposition to vessel walls, ensuring more effective clot engagement and removal.
Offset single open-mouth design to optimize clot capture.
Internal struts for uniform clot distribution within the device.
Redesigned backend for improved ergonomics and streamlined handling.
Newly engineered nitinol element enables wall-to-wall clot removal in vessels ranging from 4 to 10 mm in diameter.
The first commercial procedures using the updated InThrill system were successfully conducted in May by Dr. Joshua Pinter and Dr. Anish Ghodadra at UPMC. Pinter noted that the new system made thrombectomies "more effective and consistent than ever," while Ghodadra highlighted its transformative impact on AV access procedures, calling it a "paradigm shift."
“The launch of the next-generation InThrill Thrombectomy System reflects our deep commitment to solving real-world challenges in vascular care,” said Tim Lanier, President of Inari Division at Stryker. “This innovation brings new capabilities and strengthens our collaboration with physicians in advancing vascular treatment.”
