
Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon, has launched a powerful awareness film titled “Banno Ki Rasm” to promote breast cancer awareness and the importance of early detection. Within days of its release, the film received widespread acclaim across social media, amassing over 8 million views and striking an emotional chord with audiences nationwide.
Created under Medanta – The Medicity’s ongoing “Jaanta Hai Medanta” initiative, the 2-minute 28-second film beautifully reimagines the self-breast exam as a cherished ritual of strength, love, and care passed down through generations of women. It encourages women to adopt the self-breast exam as a monthly practice, shifting the narrative from fear and stigma to empowerment and awareness.

Breast cancer remains the most prevalent cancer among women globally, responsible for one in four cancer cases. In 2022 alone, approximately 6.7 lakh women lost their lives to the disease, with India among the most affected nations. Despite its high incidence, societal stigma, lack of awareness, and delayed diagnosis continue to claim countless lives.
