KPJ Healthcare Raises Heart-And-Lung Care Bar With First-Ever Centre Of Excellence

KPJ Healthcare has launched its first Heart & Lung Excellence Centre under the KPJ Health System (KPJHS) at Johor Specialist Hospital (JSH), marking a major milestone in its efforts to transform into an integrated academic health system.

The new centre introduces standardised clinical pathways, multidisciplinary case reviews and data-driven improvements designed to deliver a consistent, high-quality patient experience across the network.

To build and sustain clinical excellence, KPJHS will combine patient care with education and research via its affiliated KPJ Healthcare University (KPJU), while also implementing simulation-based training, digital decision-support tools and continuous outcome monitoring.

This Heart & Lung Excellence Centre is the first among 15 planned Centres of Excellence to be rolled out by 2030, aimed at expanding access to specialised care nationwide.

Through this initiative, KPJ Healthcare seeks to combine global-standard clinical protocols, strengthened by a consulting engagement with Mayo Clinic Global Consulting, with local expertise and infrastructure, providing patients with safer, cutting-edge care in cardiology and respiratory medicine.
