Fortis Healthcare Limited has agreed to acquire People Tree Hospital, a 125‑bed multispecialty facility in Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru, for Rs 430 crore through its wholly owned subsidiary, International Hospital Limited, by purchasing 100 per cent of the hospital’s holding company, TMI Healthcare Private Limited.
The acquisition includes the hospital building, infrastructure, the underlying land, and an adjacent 0.8‑acre parcel that provides scope for future expansion.
People Tree Hospital, which is NABH‑accredited and offers services across cardiac sciences, orthopaedics, neurosciences, renal sciences and gastroenterology, reported annual revenues of around Rs 74 crore in FY25. With the additional land and planned investment, Fortis intends to expand the facility’s bed capacity to more than 300 beds.
Fortis plans to invest an additional Rs 410 crore over the next three years to augment bed infrastructure, upgrade medical equipment and expand clinical programmes, including radiation oncology. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of January 2026, subject to customary conditions.
The acquisition is part of Fortis’s cluster‑focused expansion strategy in Bengaluru, where it currently operates seven facilities. Fortis Healthcare operates 33 healthcare facilities across 11 states with a network of approximately 5,800 operational beds.
The company plans to scale its bed capacity in the city from about 900 beds at present to over 1,500 beds over the next three years by integrating People Tree and expanding clinical services.
