Bengaluru-based integrated managed care provider Even Healthcare has launched its first hospital in the city, marking a significant step towards transforming secondary care in India. The facility is designed to deliver end-to-end care, with a focus on proactive risk detection and six months of post-surgical follow-up, aiming to reduce readmissions and improve long-term health outcomes.

The 70-bed hospital is equipped with advanced operating theatres and critical care units. It offers specialist-led care across key areas including orthopaedics, ENT, obstetrics and gynaecology, general surgery, internal medicine, critical care, and chronic disease management. This expansion complements Even’s existing platform of round-the-clock primary care, diagnostics, and cashless hospitalisation for its members.

“India is home to some of the world’s top hospitals, yet many doctors are forced to work under significant pressure—short consultations, system fragmentation, patients arriving too late for timely care,” said Matilde Giglio, Co-founder of Even Healthcare. “We’re not here to replace the current system but to complete the care journey—by removing bottlenecks for doctors and bringing trust, transparency, and continuity to inpatient care where it's most needed.”

Giglio emphasised that Even Hospitals offer a seamless, coordinated experience. From pre-surgery to recovery, doctors, nurses, and care coordinators operate as a unified team, ensuring no information falls through the cracks. The care model rewards health outcomes rather than patient volume. All records are synced with the Even app, paperwork is simplified and handled at home or bedside, and discharges are prompt and hassle-free.

India’s secondary care space has long been divided—between large tertiary hospitals focused on high-end procedures and smaller clinics that often lack infrastructure, consistent quality, and insurance support. Even Hospitals aim to bridge this gap by offering safe, standardised, and insurance-ready care with transparent pricing and an emphasis on patient comfort and dignity.

Founded in 2020 by Mayank Banerjee, Matilde Giglio, and Alessandro Ialongo, Even Healthcare has built a unique model that combines unlimited OPD consultations, diagnostics, and cashless hospitalisation through partnerships with hospitals and insurers. Unlike traditional insurance, Even provides a holistic, membership-based approach that makes healthcare more affordable and accessible to its members.
