AIIMS Bhubaneswar has emerged as the top-performing government healthcare institution in the category of patient health record linkage under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), reinforcing its leadership in India’s digital health transformation.

The recognition was conferred during the two-day ‘Chintan Shivir’ held in Bhubaneswar on January 19–20, organised by the National Health Authority (NHA) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The award acknowledged the institute’s strong performance in digitally integrating patient health records in alignment with ABDM objectives.

The honour was presented by Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg to AIIMS Bhubaneswar Executive Director Ashutosh Biswas, in the presence of IT Committee Chairman Manoj Kumar Mohanty, highlighting the institution’s effective implementation of national digital health frameworks.

The Chintan Shivir served as a key national forum to review the progress of ABDM initiatives and chart the future roadmap for digital health in India. Discussions focused on strengthening digital health infrastructure, improving system interoperability, and accelerating the adoption of patient-centric digital solutions across public healthcare institutions.

The event saw participation from representatives of 27 states and 7 Union Territories, underscoring the nationwide push to scale digital health systems and integrate health records seamlessly.

The recognition further cements AIIMS Bhubaneswar’s role as a frontrunner in advancing a unified, interoperable, and patient-centric digital health ecosystem in India.
