Company says internal Microsoft-based systems were temporarily disrupted, but medical devices and patient care operations remain unaffected.
Global medical technology company Stryker Corporation has reported a
cyberattack that disrupted parts of its internal Microsoft-based network
environment, the company said in a message to customers and partners.
According to the company, the incident caused a temporary disruption to its
global network systems. However, Stryker stated that there is currently no
indication of ransomware or malware, and the situation appears
to be contained within its internal Microsoft
environment.
The company said its teams are actively investigating the scope and impact
of the attack while working to restore affected systems. Business continuity
measures have been activated to ensure continued support for hospitals,
healthcare providers, and partners.
Stryker also reassured customers that its medical
technologies and devices remain safe to use, including robotic
surgery system Mako Robotic‑Arm Assisted Surgery System, communication platform
Vocera Communications Platform, and the defibrillator and monitor LIFEPAK 35
Monitor/Defibrillator. The company confirmed that these products have not been
affected by the cyber incident.
The company added that it has visibility into customer orders placed before
the disruption and plans to ship them once system communications are restored.
Orders submitted after the incident are currently being reviewed. Stryker is
also working to restore its electronic ordering system as quickly as possible.
The company said it remains safe for customers and partners to communicate
with Stryker employees and sales representatives via email, phone, and within
healthcare facilities.
Stryker stated it will continue to keep stakeholders informed as the
situation develops while prioritizing continuity of service for healthcare
providers and patients.
