Healthcare technology provider POCT Group is moving ahead with plans to introduce artificial intelligence-driven systems across public hospitals in Uttar Pradesh, aiming to overhaul clinical workflows by April 2026. The initiative builds on the company’s existing digitisation of diagnostic services in the state.

The AI systems are expected to expand the digital footprint in government health facilities beyond laboratory reporting to include broader clinical tasks, streamline patient care processes and support early disease detection.

POCT Group’s Laboratory Information System (LIS) is already in place in more than 1,300 government facilities across the state, including district hospitals, medical colleges and community health centres, and has sharply reduced the time required to deliver diagnostic reports.

Under the current setup, test results are sent directly to patients via digital channels, reducing the need for physical visits and wait times. Printed reports remain available for patients without access to smartphones or digital tools. The digital infrastructure complies with India’s Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission standards and is hosted on secure cloud platforms to safeguard data.

The expansion was outlined at the Uttar Pradesh AI and Health Innovation Conference, held as part of the Global AI Impact Conference 2026 in Lucknow. Officials highlighted that the project aligns with the state government’s drive to integrate artificial intelligence and digital technologies into public health operations, with the goal of enhancing efficiency and accessibility of services in government hospitals.
