Infertility affects over 27 million couples in India, driven by lifestyle factors such as delayed family planning, obesity, and rising alcohol and tobacco use, along with biological issues like declining egg reserves and reduced sperm quality. With demand for fertility treatments increasing, the number of IVF cycles in India is projected to rise from 300,000 in 2024 to 550,000 by 2030. Despite this growth, the IVF industry remains fragmented, with nearly 90% of India’s 6,500 centres operating as standalone clinics, often lacking standardized care, especially in Tier 2 and 3 cities.

Pluro is addressing this challenge through a tech-enabled fertility platform that integrates medical excellence with a seamless patient experience. The company partners with reputed doctors, offering operational, financial, and marketing support while allowing them to focus on delivering personalized, high-quality care. Over the next six months, Pluro plans to partner with and integrate 25 standalone IVF clinics, enabling consistent, outcomes-driven treatment across its network. Each partner doctor also receives equity participation, aligning incentives and fostering long-term growth.

In a significant development, Pluro has raised ₹125 crore in a Series A funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, valuing the company at around ₹1,000 crore. The investment will be used to expand Pluro’s network of partner clinics, enhance its technology infrastructure, and strengthen clinical capabilities across India. The funding marks a strong vote of confidence in Pluro’s mission to build a unified, outcomes-driven fertility platform and deliver standardized, high-quality reproductive care to families across the country.

According to Bessemer Venture Partners, “organised single-specialty chains are uniquely positioned to deliver superior outcomes in India’s fragmented healthcare market.” Bessemer highlighted its confidence in Pluro’s founding team — Dr. Jaydeep Tank, Dr. Parikshit Tank, and Dr. Bhaskar Shah — whose collective expertise spans IVF innovation and healthcare leadership. Together, they aim to make Pluro India’s most impactful fertility care platform, delivering reliable and compassionate reproductive healthcare nationwide.
