Lytus HealthTech, a subsidiary of Lytus Technologies (OTCMKTS: LYTHF), has launched its tech-enabled on-demand blood logistics platform, Lytus BLOD, in Hyderabad. After a successful rollout in Chennai—where it delivered over 5,000 critical blood units and received the Red Cross Society’s Award for Excellence in Blood & Medical Logistics—this marks a major step forward in revolutionizing India’s healthcare logistics through AI-powered solutions.
Hyderabad, which houses over 100 licensed blood banks and has an annual demand of more than 275,000 blood units, faces significant logistical hurdles. A reported 10–15% of blood units are discarded due to cold-chain failures and transportation delays. In emergencies, current delivery times average between 3 to 5 hours, risking patient outcomes. BLOD is designed to overcome these gaps by offering 24x7 SLA-backed delivery within 90 minutes, enabled by centralized dispatch, real-time tracking, and intelligent algorithmic routing.
The platform has already partnered with over 12 leading blood banks in Hyderabad, spanning both private and charitable institutions. It is currently integrated with more than 35 hospitals and aims to expand to over 50 hospitals within the next year. Powered by AI and Agentic AI technologies, BLOD offers complete end-to-end visibility, real-time inventory forecasting, and proactive delivery management. “Every drop of blood has a purpose,” said Sai Guna Ranjan Puranam, COO of Lytus HealthTech. “With BLOD, we’re not just delivering units; we’re delivering hope, life, and precious time.”
The Hyderabad rollout is part of Lytus Technologies’ broader investment strategy to scale AI-driven healthcare platforms across India and into global markets including the U.S. and UAE.
“Healthcare is the ultimate frontier where human need intersects with the full potential of technology,” said Dharmesh Pandya, Global CEO of Lytus Technologies. “In critical scenarios like blood delivery, every minute matters. BLOD is more than a platform—it’s a mission to redefine medical logistics. We're proud to build this in India, as a global model for responsive and compassionate healthcare.”
