NTPC Limited, Western Region–I Headquarters, has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute (GCRI) to upgrade radiotherapy services at GCRI’s Siddhpur Satellite Centre as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

Under the agreement, NTPC has sanctioned ₹23.16 crore for the procurement and installation of a high-energy Linear Accelerator (LINAC) at the Siddhpur centre. The advanced radiotherapy equipment is expected to significantly strengthen cancer treatment capabilities and expand access to high-quality radiation therapy for patients across Gujarat and neighbouring regions.

The MoA was formally exchanged between Dr. Shashank Pandya, Director, GCRI, and E. Satya Phani Kumar, Regional Executive Director (West–I), NTPC. The signing took place in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.

NTPC representatives present at the ceremony included Akhaya Kumar Patra, General Manager (OS); A. P. Samal, CEO (NPUNL) and Chief General Manager (Nuclear); and Vandana Chaturvedi, Regional Head of Human Resources (West–I), along with senior officials from NTPC Western Region–I and members of the CSR team. Senior officials from GCRI also attended the event.

The initiative reflects NTPC’s continued focus on strengthening healthcare infrastructure through CSR support, while enabling GCRI to enhance advanced cancer care services at its satellite centres.
