Two primary health centres in rural and tribal areas of Thane district have been upgraded with essential medical equipment under the Sanjeevani project, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative implemented through a collaboration between Making The Difference (MTD) NGO and PPFAS Mutual Fund. The project aims to improve the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of healthcare services for underserved communities.
As part of the initiative, each primary health centre has been equipped with more than 70 medical devices and healthcare supplies to enhance diagnostic, treatment, and patient-care capabilities. The upgraded facilities are expected to benefit over 100 patients per day, contributing to stronger healthcare delivery in remote areas of the district.
With these upgrades, the number of primary health centres supported in the district through Making The Difference NGO has increased to four. The intervention is designed to address specific infrastructure and equipment gaps at the primary care level, enabling healthcare providers to offer improved services to local populations.
The CSR partnership focuses on need-based support rather than only financial contributions, ensuring that equipment is selected according to the functional requirements of each health centre. The initiative has been implemented following assessments of on-ground needs in rural and tribal regions.
The total value of the medical equipment provided under the project is ₹50 lakh. The upgraded facilities now include laparoscopes, ICU beds, stretchers, baby warmers, operation instruments, oxygen concentrators and cylinders, functional beds, deep freezers, refrigerators, medicine trolleys, cupboards, televisions, tables, and chairs.
The project is expected to play a role in strengthening primary healthcare infrastructure and improving access to essential medical services in Thane district villages.
