Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on December 15 marked the second anniversary of the State Government by inaugurating a state-level health camp, blood donation camp and multiple public health initiatives at the RUHS Hospital campus in Jaipur, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the goal of ‘Healthy Rajasthan’.
The Chief Minister emphasised that all decisions and schemes over the past two years have been people-centric, focusing on expanding quality healthcare access from cities to villages and remote hamlets. As part of the anniversary initiatives, a ₹20-crore critical care block with ICU and emergency beds, advanced ventilators, modular operation theatres and dialysis facilities were inaugurated at RUHS.
Statewide health camps are being organised from medical colleges to sub-centres, offering free screening for BMI, blood pressure, blood sugar and common cancers for people above 30 years of age, along with free medicines and diagnostic tests. Blood donation camps are being held at district and tehsil levels across the state.
The Chief Minister released the Heal in Rajasthan Policy, 2025 to promote medical tourism and position Rajasthan as a low-cost and reliable medical value travel destination. Welfare measures for persons with disabilities were highlighted, including the distribution of wheelchairs, motorised tricycles and assistive devices, with the State Government committed to providing artificial limbs and aids worth up to ₹20,000 to 1.5 lakh Divyang persons.
Under the National Health Mission, a hub-and-spoke free diagnostics model covering over 100 specialised tests, including cancer markers and cardiac tests, is being rolled out through 42 mother labs, 137 hub labs and 1,333 spokes. Eleven mother labs and 400 spokes were inaugurated, with digital reporting enabling patients to access results from home.
To improve maternal and child health, an FCM injection campaign has been launched to combat anaemia among pregnant women, along with eye screening programmes in government schools, free spectacles, and screening for thalassemia and sickle cell disease among students.
The Chief Minister said 35,000 recruitments have been completed in the medical and health department in two years, with hiring underway for another 15,000 posts. Under the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Yojana, 132 new treatment packages have been added, benefiting over 3.5 million people. Seven new medical colleges have been established, adding 1,650 MBBS seats.
He also highlighted partnerships with charitable trusts and NGOs to strengthen hospital infrastructure, patient shelters, cancer screening, care for destitute patients and hospital food courts.
