The Delhi government has further strengthened the city’s primary healthcare infrastructure by inaugurating 51 new Ayushmaan Arogya Mandirs in South Delhi, bringing the total number of operational centres to 370.
The new facilities were inaugurated by CM Rekha Gupta in Fatehpur Beri village and are part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to expand community-based healthcare access across the capital.
Ayushmaan Arogya Mandirs function as neighbourhood-level health centres that provide preventive and curative services, including basic diagnostics, essential medicines, routine check-ups, and health screenings.
The centres are designed to reduce the burden on larger hospitals by managing minor illnesses and chronic conditions at the community level. The initiative is particularly aimed at making healthcare more accessible to residents in densely populated or underserved areas.
Officials like Hon’ble MP Shri Ramvir Singh Bidhuri Ji, Hon’ble MLA Shri Kartar Singh Tanwar Ji, Municipal Councillor Shri Sundar Singh Tanwar, along with many other dignitaries were also present at the occasion.
The recent expansion is part of a broader plan to establish more than 1,100 Ayushmaan Arogya Mandirs across Delhi, significantly increasing the availability of primary healthcare services.
The facilities are expected to offer screening for common non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular conditions, while also providing maternal and child health services, nutritional advice, and counselling for lifestyle-related disorders.
