Biorad Medisys Pvt. Ltd., a leading Indian medical technology company known for developing and marketing specialised medical devices, has announced a series of strategic investments and product development initiatives aimed at strengthening its presence in the neurovascular and peripheral vascular segments.
As part of this expansion strategy, Biorad Medisys has invested in Frid Mind Technologies (FMT), a Belgium-based medtech company founded by Noureddine Frid. FMT has created a patented stroke-prevention device based on advanced braiding technology, which has successfully completed preclinical studies and two first-in-human trials with positive long-term outcomes.
In a parallel move, Biorad has acquired a 10% equity stake in Motion Informatics Ltd. (formerly Stroke Rehab Ltd.), an Israel-based company specializing in stroke rehabilitation technologies. Motion Informatics manufactures and markets the US FDA-approved Stimel-03 device, which combines Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES), Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), and Biofeedback to enhance patient recovery after stroke. Under the agreement, Biorad Medisys also holds manufacturing and distribution rights for the device in select markets, including India and the United States.
JM Hegde, Managing Director of Biorad Medisys, highlighted that these collaborations reinforce the company’s commitment to advancing stroke and vascular care through cutting-edge technologies.
“Our collaborations with FMT and Motion Informatics, together with our work in advanced braiding technologies, reflect our ongoing efforts in the field of vascular and stroke care,” he said.
These strategic moves underscore Biorad Medisys’ vision to broaden its innovation pipeline and strengthen its role as a key contributor to next-generation vascular health and rehabilitation solutions.
