Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh reviewed the construction progress of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Majra village in Rewari district and directed officials to ensure the outpatient department becomes operational by March 2026, while maintaining high construction standards and completing faculty arrangements on time.
The institute is being developed over 210 acres at an estimated cost of about ₹1,700 crore and will include a 750-bed hospital with facilities on par with other AIIMS institutions across the country. Medical education is expected to begin in the next academic session, with MBBS admissions initially capped at 50 seats and later expanded to 100. Emergency and other medical services are also expected to be completed soon.
During the visit, Rao Inderjit Singh also reviewed plans for a railway overbridge near the campus and asked officials to initiate work at the earliest. Once operational, the OPD services are expected to significantly ease access to specialised healthcare for residents of Rewari and surrounding areas.
