Amaravati is set to host India’s first Quantum BioFoundry, aimed at creating an integrated quantum–bio–medical research ecosystem that advances biomedical research and healthcare innovation.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met with a delegation of leading academicians, researchers, and companies working in quantum computation, wet-lab sciences, and wearable quantum technologies to review a strategic roadmap for the initiative.

The Amaravati Quantum BioFoundry Vision proposes a world-class knowledge ecosystem anchored by a Quantum Simulation Centre, a National Quantum BioFoundry, an Innovation Hub, and a nationwide spoke network.

The project’s strategic focus includes quantum medicine, quantum biology, and life sciences integration through a multidisciplinary, computation-led, and data-driven approach. The ecosystem will integrate Centres of Excellence, clinical partners, industry collaborations, computing infrastructure, research facilities, and start-up and innovation support systems.

Discussions explored emerging applications where quantum technologies are transforming biology and healthcare, emphasizing Andhra Pradesh’s strategic location, research momentum, and policy agility as key advantages for leading the initiative. The plan envisions short-, medium-, and long-term applications that drive transformational change, anchored in a hub-and-spoke model, leveraging India’s scientific talent and building strong national and global institutional networks.

The delegation consisted of experts across three critical frontiers: quantum technology, computation, wet-lab research, and next-generation wearables. Secretary to the Chief Minister Praduymna and ITE&C Secretary Bhaskar Katamneni also participated, supporting the development of a comprehensive roadmap to establish Amaravati as a hub for quantum-enabled biomedical research and innovation.
