Andhra Pradesh has partnered with the Gates Foundation to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI)-driven healthcare reforms, Health Minister Satya Kumar said on Sunday (February 15).
According to media reports, the Minister said the collaboration aligns with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of building a “Healthy Andhra Pradesh.” He added that the Foundation’s co-founder Bill Gates is scheduled to visit Amaravati on Monday (February 16) to review ongoing initiatives and discuss the roadmap ahead.
The partnership aims to ensure universal access to affordable healthcare through modern technology and systemic reforms, enhance nutritional security and public health outcomes, and transition from a reactive treatment-based model to a preventive and predictive healthcare system.
The State government plans to roll out early disease detection systems, personalised health profiling, advance warning mechanisms for potential illnesses, individual health cards, and expanded digital health services, including telemedicine.
Based on recommendations from the Foundation, the government has constituted a high-powered expert advisory group comprising 10 international experts to assess the existing healthcare system and propose reforms. Three sub-committees are also being set up to focus on specific priority areas.
