Queensland Firms Eye Life Sciences Investment Opportunities At BioAsia 2026 In Hyderabad

By Team VOH

A 17-company business delegation from Queensland, led by Trade and Investment Queensland, has arrived in Hyderabad to take part in BioAsia 2026 and explore new avenues for investment in the life sciences sector, strengthening economic and scientific ties between Australia’s Queensland state and India. The delegation comprises leaders from research organisations, universities, clinical research organisations and life sciences companies.

The visit is focused on identifying opportunities for collaboration in key areas such as clinical research and related therapeutics, where both countries are seen to offer complementary strengths — with Australia often preferred for early-phase trials and faster patient recruitment, and India favoured for cost-efficient, large-scale studies. Several Queensland-based businesses are already operating in India in sectors including diagnostics, biologics services and health testing.

The delegation’s presence at BioAsia, Asia’s premier life sciences and healthcare event, aligns with broader efforts by Telangana to position Hyderabad as a global tech-bio and life sciences hub, attracting international investment and fostering cross-border partnerships in innovation, research and healthcare infrastructure.

BioAsia 2026 brings together industry leaders, innovators, policymakers and investors from around the world to showcase advances across biopharma, medtech, digital health and AI-driven technologies, and to catalyse collaborations that support global healthcare progress.

Queensland’s participation builds on a history of engagement with the Indian life sciences ecosystem and follows similar delegations in recent years, reinforcing the strategic importance of ties between Queensland and India in health innovation and investment.
