Illumina Appoints Nilesh Shah as Head of AMEA Region

Illumina Inc. , a global leader in DNA sequencing and array-based technologies, has announced the appointment of Nilesh Shah as Head of Region, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA), effective immediately.

With more than 25 years of leadership experience in the medical technology and life sciences sectors, Nilesh has held senior positions at Johnson & Johnson, GE Healthcare, and most recently at West Pharmaceutical Services, where he served as Vice President & General Manager, Emerging Markets. At West, he successfully drove regional transformation, strengthened customer engagement, and delivered strong growth through agile and aligned strategies across Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

On his new role, Nilesh said: “Genomics and multi-omics are transforming precision medicine and healthcare worldwide. I am honored to join Illumina as Head of AMEA and look forward to working with our customers, partners, and the ecosystem to unlock the full potential of these technologies.”

Nilesh will be based in Singapore and succeeds Bas Verhoef, who served as interim Head of AMEA and will continue as Head of Region, Europe.
