Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed the Health Secretary to take prompt measures to ensure that healthcare services in Chaukhutia reflect public expectations. In line with this, the CM has announced the upgradation of the Chaukhutia Community Health Centre (CHC) into a 300-bed Sub-District Hospital (SDH), with the official government order currently being processed at the administrative level.

"The government is committed to providing high-quality health services, with a focus on meeting the aspirations of the people," an official statement said.

According to the Director General of Medical Health, the Chaukhutia Community Health Centre (CHC) currently functions as a 30-bed facility, serving 150 to 200 outpatients daily. The lady medical officer at the CHC handles 30 to 35 deliveries each month. The hospital has a team of seven doctors—three female and four male—including a dental surgeon.

To provide specialist care, a team comprising a physician, gynaecologist, and paediatrician visits the CHC three days a week from Almora District Hospital and Ranikhet Sub-District Hospital, offering regular services to patients.

The hospital is equipped with essential facilities, including X-ray, ultrasound, a dental chair, and 108 ambulance services. Additionally, with government support, Chandan Diagnostic conducts around 70 to 80 diagnostic tests daily at no cost to patients.
