Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Ltd has launched 32 Arogya Seva Kendras (ASK) across nine Indian states in a major expansion of its community-level primary healthcare initiative under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The centres, established in partnership with Piramal Swasthya, are being rolled out in locations including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Maharashtra.
Designed to strengthen access to primary care, the Arogya Seva Kendras will provide free services such as consultations with qualified medical practitioners, screening for non-communicable diseases including hypertension and diabetes, basic laboratory diagnostics, essential medicines and health counselling. The centres will also support pneumococcal vaccination for eligible patients.
The initiative is expected to benefit more than one million individuals, particularly in districts with high burdens of non-communicable diseases and limited primary healthcare access.
Star Health is financing the capital and operational costs of the programme, while Piramal Swasthya will oversee its clinical implementation and governance.
