Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has directed strict and regular monitoring of the availability of medicines and diagnostic services in government hospitals to enhance healthcare delivery across the state.

He issued the directive during a review meeting of the Medical and Health Department at the Chief Minister’s residence in Jaipur, emphasising the importance of ensuring uninterrupted supply and accessibility of essential medicines and diagnostic tests.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to take strict action against any irregularities or misuse of government health programmes, stating that negligence in healthcare services would not be tolerated. He also stressed the proper functioning of emergency and maternity-related services, including 108 ambulance services, 104 Janani Express, and Mamta Express, to ensure timely medical assistance.

Gehlot reviewed ongoing eye screening camps in government schools and asked officials to conduct such camps on a division-wise basis, ensuring that students requiring spectacles receive them promptly. He also directed strict action against those found misusing benefits under the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS).

The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Chief Minister’s Office and the Medical and Health Department, who were tasked with implementing the directives and ensuring accountability in healthcare service delivery.
