The Tamil Nadu government’s flagship health initiative, ‘Nalam Kaakkum Stalin’, has benefited over 12.34 lakh people across the state through an extensive series of medical camps since its launch in August, under the leadership of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
The programme, aimed at providing comprehensive healthcare access, has organized approximately 800 camps in multiple districts, offering free full-body health checkups, specialist consultations, and on-the-spot medical services. Participants have also received support for enrolment in health insurance schemes and issuance of disability certificates. In Chennai alone, around 26,900 residents have availed of services through 12 dedicated camps. Statewide, 37,445 beneficiaries have been issued health insurance cards, while 46,657 persons with disabilities have received disability certificates as part of the initiative.
The camps, conducted across 31 districts, emphasize preventive healthcare and early diagnosis, targeting underserved populations and communities with limited access to medical facilities. Medical examinations cover routine screenings, diagnostics, and follow-up care referrals, ensuring that health interventions are timely and effective.
The programme also integrates awareness campaigns on general wellness, hygiene, and lifestyle management to promote long-term health benefits. The latest phase of camps was held at 44 locations, demonstrating Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s continued commitment to expanding the reach and impact of the initiative.
The programme not only strengthens public health infrastructure but also facilitates direct engagement between healthcare providers and citizens, enhancing awareness and uptake of essential services across Tamil Nadu.
