Mizoram will conduct a Pulse Polio Sub-National Immunization Day on October 14, targeting children under five years in four border districts—Lunglei, Siaha, Champhai, and Lawngtlai.
The decision was finalised at a State Task Force on Immunization (STFI) meeting at the SAD Conference Hall, MINECO. Although India was declared polio-free in 2014, officials highlighted the continuing risk of re-emergence due to cross-border movement from countries where polio cases are still reported. The campaign aims to strengthen protection in vulnerable areas.
