Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, visited the newly inaugurated World Health Organization South‑East Asia Regional Office (WHO SEARO) building in New Delhi and met with ministers and senior representatives from countries in the WHO South‑East Asia Region.

During the visit, he emphasised India’s firm commitment to strengthening cooperation in regional and global health, saying shared public health challenges demand collaborative, coordinated and sustained action among nations.

Nadda described the WHO SEARO building not just as infrastructure but as a symbol of shared aspirations and collective determination to advance public health and well‑being for nearly half a billion people across the region.

World Health Organization Director‑General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus praised the new SEARO facility as a testament to shared purpose and collective commitment to global health, and expressed appreciation to the Government of India and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for hosting the regional office.

The event was attended by Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and AYUSH Shri Prataprao Jadhav, senior officials from the Union Government, delegates from WHO South‑East Asia Region member states, researchers and representatives of international organisations.
