The foundation stone for the Menaba Rotary Multi Speciality Hospital was laid in Unjha, marking the beginning of the construction of a modern healthcare facility planned across a ten acre campus.

The initiative was led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who highlighted that the project is expected to develop into a major healthcare centre for the entire North Gujarat region. The hospital has been envisioned as a state of the art institution that will expand access to advanced medical services for residents who have long travelled significant distances for specialised treatment.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister reflected on the transformation of the health sector in the state, crediting the groundwork established when Narendra Modi served as Chief Minister of Gujarat. He noted that this earlier focus on public welfare and development enabled the expansion of healthcare infrastructure into rural and remote areas. He also pointed to the expansion of medical education in the state, observing that the number of medical seats has grown significantly from the earlier figure of one thousand one hundred and seventy five. This expansion has increased the availability of trained doctors across villages and towns.

Another major development highlighted at the event was the combined health protection cover of ten lakh rupees now available to the people of Gujarat. Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the Central Government offers free treatment worth five lakh rupees, and the State Government has added an additional five lakh rupees to strengthen financial protection during illness.

The upcoming hospital is designed to cover one lakh square feet within its large campus and will provide a range of advanced clinical services. The facility will include four operation theatres, more than two hundred beds, twenty intensive care unit beds, and twenty speciality clinics.

Departments such as General Medicine, Neuro and Spine, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Cardiology, Oncosurgery and Critical Care will be available. Specialised services will include an IVF unit, neonatal and paediatric intensive care units, a chemotherapy centre, and gynaecology labour rooms.

Continuous services will be offered through a twenty four hour pharmacy, laboratory, CT scan centre, digital X ray services, a blood bank and an ICU on Wheels facility to support urgent care and emergency responses.

Members of Parliament Haribhai Patel, Mayank Nayak and Babubhai Desai conveyed their greetings for the occasion. The event saw the presence of several elected representatives including Unjha MLA K K Patel, Mehsana MLA Mukesh Patel, Kheralu MLA Sardarbhai Chaudhary, Bahucharaji MLA Sukhaji Thakor, Kadi MLA Rajendra Chavda and Patan MLA Kirit Patel. It was also attended by Unjha Municipal President Jignaben Patel, APMC Unjha Chairman Dinesh Patel, Collector S K Prajapati, District Development Officer Dr Jasmine Hasrat, donors, and a large gathering of citizens.

The gathering reflected broad public support for the establishment of this major healthcare project, which is set to significantly strengthen medical services in the region.
