On June 25, the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), in collaboration with Medanta–The Medicity, organized a free medical camp for government officers and staff at the IDAN office, Capital Convention Centre, Kohima.

According to a DIPR report, Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer inaugurated the camp as the chief guest, officially launching the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. In his address, he expressed gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and Medanta team, and commended IDAN for its efforts in making healthcare more accessible to public servants.

Sharingain also highlighted the benefits of the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), recounting his personal experience of receiving cashless medical treatment under the scheme. He emphasized the importance of greater investment in healthcare infrastructure, cancer awareness, and preventive care initiatives.

The program began with a welcome address by IDAN Under Secretary I. Changsang, followed by remarks from Tarun Majumdar, Vice President of Medanta Group, who spoke about the objectives of the camp and Medanta’s partnership with the Nagaland government under the MoU to implement the CMHIS. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Rohan Abraham, Head of Northeast India Strategy at Medanta.

The medical camp provided free consultations with a team of specialists from Medanta Hospital, Gurugram, including a cardiologist, oncologist, and general physicians. Participants also benefited from various health screenings such as blood pressure checks, random blood sugar tests, ECG (where recommended), bone mineral density assessments, and pulmonary function tests.
