As part of its intensified Winter Action Plan, the Delhi Government has ramped up efforts to curb pollution across the city’s 13 identified hotspots. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Saturday carried out a detailed inspection at Anand Vihar, one of Delhi’s most polluted zones, to review on-ground implementation of control measures.
During the visit, Sirsa assessed initiatives related to dust suppression, traffic management, and road maintenance, and also examined the Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring System (CAAQMS) installed by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) near Anand Vihar Metro Station.
The Minister instructed officials to increase traffic personnel deployment, ensure buses stop only at designated bays, and operate mobile anti-smog guns during peak hours. He also took note of an unpaved road patch near the Anand Vihar Bus Terminal and directed its early repair.
