The Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), under the Ministry of AYUSH, in collaboration with the Manipal Institute of Virology (MIV), a constituent unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), has inaugurated a five-day residential workshop titled “Biosafety & Outbreak Simulation Training 2025.” The program is being held from October 6 to 10, 2025, at the MAHE campus in Manipal, Karnataka.

This specialized training initiative has been carefully curated for CCRH research scientists, aiming to strengthen biosafety practices, outbreak preparedness, and response capabilities. The program represents a vital step in enhancing public health preparedness and aligns with the broader objectives of the Ministry of AYUSH to build a resilient healthcare research ecosystem.

The workshop drew strong interest from across the country, with participation from 33 CCRH institutes and units spanning 22 states and union territories. Following a rigorous online assessment conducted by MIV, 30 outstanding research scientists from 14 states and UTs were selected to take part in this prestigious capacity-building program.

During the inaugural session, Dr. Chiranjay Mukhopadhyay, Director, MIV, welcomed all dignitaries, resource persons, and participants. The event was formally inaugurated by Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General, CCRH, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. Kaushik highlighted the importance of fostering collaboration between CCRH and MAHE to build a robust healthcare system capable of responding effectively to emerging health challenges. He further emphasized the potential role of Homoeopathy in managing epidemics and pandemics, underscoring the relevance of scientific training in public health preparedness.

A significant highlight of the event was the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CCRH and MAHE, marking the beginning of a structured collaboration in the domains of research, education, and training. The MoU was signed by Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General, CCRH, and Dr. P. Giridhar Kini, Registrar, MAHE.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Sharath Kumar Rao K, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Health Sciences, MAHE, commended the initiative and assured continued institutional support. “MAHE is committed to fostering collaborations that enhance scientific capabilities and contribute to advancing public health research,” he stated.
