Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday, November 1, laid the foundation stone for a 50-bed AYUSH Hospital at Mikirbheta in Morigaon district. Spread across 15 bighas of land and being built at an estimated cost of ₹15 crore, the project marks a major milestone in the state’s efforts to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure.
The upcoming facility will promote traditional systems of medicine, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy, while working in synergy with modern medical practices. It aims to provide holistic, affordable, and easily accessible healthcare to the people of the region.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Sarma said the project would not only promote traditional healing systems but also contribute to the broader development of Assam’s healthcare sector. He noted that the hospital will be a blessing for those in need, especially in rural areas where access to quality healthcare remains limited.
The initiative reflects the state government’s vision to position Assam as a hub for both modern and traditional wellness care, promoting comprehensive health and well-being for all.
