At the 2nd Edition of the International Conference on Dentistry and Awards 2025, the panel “The Intelligent Smile: Reimagining Oral Care through Digital, Cosmetic & AI Innovation” explored how artificial intelligence, digital tools, and interdisciplinary collaboration are transforming modern dentistry. Moderated by Dr. Amit Sachdeva, Chief Product Officer – Whistle Aligners / Mentor Invisalign & Aligner Practice, Clove Dental DSO, the session brought together leading practitioners who shared insights on AI-powered diagnostics, precision-driven treatments, and patient-centric care.

Dr. Anurag Gupta, Co Founder & CEO, KrinosAI stated, “Diagnostics form the foundation of dentistry, and AI now plays a vital role in enhancing accuracy and consistency in clinical interpretation.

Earlier, diagnosis relied heavily on visual analysis, which could vary from one clinician to another. But with AI-driven data and advanced 2D and 3D imaging, we now achieve much higher precision.

At Cryanos AI, our tech team is developing robust models that help clinicians analyze 2D and 3D scans, including CBCT and multi-planar images, to detect early lesions and subtle findings that might otherwise go unnoticed.

From the patient’s perspective, this technology is transformative. With color-coded visualizations, patients can actually see what the dentist sees, improving understanding, communication, and most importantly, trust between doctor and patient.”

Dr. Deepak Rai, Interdisciplinary Dental Specialist, Neosmile Dental, Noida & Founder Partner, Neosmile India Education said, ““In today’s practice, patients expect comprehensive, interdisciplinary care, not just one specialty. Learning doesn’t end with post-graduation — every case is a new challenge.

Master your basics first; even a simple filling done well matters more than chasing big cases. Strong fundamentals make digital tools and AI truly effective.

Before complex treatments, treat the basics and build from there. Excellence lies in precision, passion, and continuous learning — that’s what defines a successful clinician.”

Dr. Sanjit Singh, Principal Consultant - Cosmetic Dentistry, Endodontics , Implantology and Restorative Dentistry,   Max Healthcare stated, “Improving one’s smile doesn’t just enhance appearance — it boosts confidence, relationships, and even career opportunities.

Today, with AI and 3D technology, we can create a 3D smile design before starting any treatment. Earlier, when patients wanted a smile makeover, we would begin the work directly — but now, every case in my practice starts with photography, scanning, and a facially driven 3D smile simulation.

This allows both the dentist and the patient to visualize the final result before the first procedure even begins. It’s a complete game-changer — we now start from the end and work backward, ensuring precision and satisfaction.

When patients can actually see what their new smile will look like, their confidence and acceptance of treatment increase dramatically. It’s truly a win-win for everyone involved.”

Dr. Aneesh Katyal, Founder & Principal Orthodontist at AK GLOBAL DENT & Align Global Faculty & JC Paul Memorial Awardee by ICD said, “With the advent of digitization, there’s now a new synergy and harmony among different dental disciplines. We can no longer afford to operate independently, focusing only on our specific area, without considering the broader, comprehensive care that a patient truly needs.

Take orthodontics as an example. When planning a case that involves implants, today’s digital tools and software — especially with advancements like aligner orthodontics — allow us to visualize tooth and root movement, create space for implants, and achieve the required soft tissue harmony for prosthetic success. After all, an implant should be prosthetically driven, not just surgically placed.

As orthodontists, we’re no longer just aligning teeth for perfect occlusion — we must also think from the prosthodontist’s perspective and plan with the final outcome in mind.

Digitization has enabled this level of collaboration, making us better clinicians overall. More than just a technological advancement, it represents a mindset shift — one that all clinicians, myself included, must embrace to deliver truly integrated and patient-centered care.”

The discussion highlighted that the future of dentistry lies in blending technology with empathy — where AI enhances diagnostic precision, 3D tools empower visualization, and collaboration across specialities ensures holistic, confident smiles for every patient.
