India and Kenya have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in the health sector during a meeting between India’s High Commissioner Adarsh Swaika and Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Health, Aden Duale.
The discussions centred on deepening bilateral engagement across pharmaceuticals, pharma manufacturing equipment, medical devices and capacity-building initiatives, with both sides signalling intent to broaden collaboration aimed at strengthening access to affordable and quality healthcare.
India continues to hold a significant position in Kenya’s pharmaceutical landscape, with Indian-made medicines accounting for a major share of the country’s market. This long-standing presence has contributed to affordability and reliable supply, reinforcing India’s role as a trusted partner.
The meeting underscored a shared vision to build on these strengths and expand cooperation in areas critical to the health systems of both countries.
