Ahmedabad-based Cadila Pharmaceuticals has introduced Rosmi F, a fixed-dose combination of Rosuvastatin and Fenofibrate, aimed at addressing the growing clinical need in patients with mixed dyslipidemia—a condition characterised by elevated LDL cholesterol and triglycerides that significantly heighten cardiovascular risk.

With lifestyle-related disorders such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases on the rise, Rosmi F offers a holistic lipid-management approach that targets multiple lipid abnormalities simultaneously.

Rosmi F combines two well-established lipid-lowering agents with complementary modes of action.

·   Rosuvastatin inhibits HMG-CoA reductase to reduce LDL cholesterol production.

·    Fenofibrate activates PPAR-α receptors, effectively lowering triglycerides and improving HDL-C levels.

This clinically validated combination enhances lipid control more effectively than monotherapy. It provides an integrated, guideline-supported therapeutic option for patients with elevated LDL-C, high triglycerides, and low HDL-C—common patterns seen in metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and mixed dyslipidemia.

Global evidence underscores the strength of this combination therapy.

·   A 16-week study reported a 53% reduction in triglycerides with fenofibrate—superior to niacin extended-release—without affecting insulin sensitivity.

·    A 52-week open-label study showed the proportion of patients achieving both LDL-C and HDL-C goals rising from 19% at baseline to 50% after combination treatment with rosuvastatin and fenofibrate.

These outcomes align with major lipid-management guidelines, reinforcing the relevance and clinical utility of Rosmi F in comprehensive dyslipidemia care.
