Ivan Martinez Named Chief Strategy Officer at GE HealthCare

GE HealthCare CEO Peter Arduini has announced the appointment of Ivan Martinez as the company’s new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).

In a LinkedIn post, Arduini emphasized the importance of executing the company’s strategic vision:
“Executing on our strategy is central to creating a world where healthcare has no limits and delivering for our people, patients and customers. I’m excited to welcome Ivan Martinez to GE HealthCare as our new chief strategy officer. Ivan brings more than 20 years of global experience leading strategy, growth, and transformation across the health sciences and consumer sectors. His leadership will help us drive progress forward on the strategic approach we have established as a company.”

Arduini added that Martinez will play a key role in shaping GE HealthCare’s trajectory, advancing growth, building partnerships, and leading strategic initiatives.

Martinez joins GE HealthCare after eight years at Abbott, where he held several leadership positions including division VP of strategy and innovation, licensing and acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.

Previously, he served as Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Product Officer, and GM of digital business services at Brillio. Earlier in his career, Martinez spent nine years at McKinsey & Company, where he co-led the creation of Periscope, a SaaS business within McKinsey Ventures, later becoming VP and GM overseeing sales, innovation, and software development.

His experience also spans roles at Cargill in Strategy & Business Development, Accenture’s Strategy & Business Architecture service line, and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Spain, the UK, and Switzerland.
