Health and Family Affairs Minister Dr. (Col) Dhani Ram Shandil announced that 34 health institutions in Himachal Pradesh will soon be equipped with state-of-the-art CT scan machines. The procurement and installation process is expected to be completed within three months, with all machines operational by December 2025.
These CT scan facilities will be set up across civil, zonal, and regional hospitals, ensuring modern diagnostic services closer to patients and reducing reliance on private providers.
In addition, five Phaco machines have been procured for Chamba Medical College, Zonal Hospital Chamba, and civil hospitals in Rohru, Paonta Sahib, and Una, with installation already underway.
The state government has also approved quality-enhanced baby care kits containing 18 essential items for newborns delivered in both government and private institutions. Samples are currently under quality testing before orders are placed.
