Sustainable development technology firm ECDS has announced plans to establish a medical equipment manufacturing unit in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, with an initial investment of Rs 780 crore, marking the company’s entry into manufacturing operations in India.
The project will be implemented through a joint venture with three South Korean companies and is proposed to be set up at the Medical Equipment Park in Vikram Udyogpuri, Ujjain, a state-developed industrial hub aimed at strengthening domestic medical device manufacturing.
According to information shared by the company, ECDS has submitted a detailed proposal to the Madhya Pradesh government seeking land allotment for the project. The proposed unit will span 15.60 acres, of which 1.5 acres have already been acquired, indicating initial progress on the ground.
Once operational, the facility is expected to contribute to the expansion of India’s medical equipment manufacturing ecosystem and support the government’s broader push for self-reliance in healthcare infrastructure. The project is also likely to generate economic activity and industrial development in the Ujjain region.
This will be ECDS’s first manufacturing facility in the country, positioning the company to tap into India’s growing demand for domestically produced medical equipment.
