At the Rising Northeast Investors Summit in Delhi, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced a major healthcare push in the Northeastern region, led by the Reliance Foundation. As part of this initiative, the foundation has committed to significantly upgrading cancer care and research infrastructure across the eight Northeastern states.

Ambani highlighted the establishment of a 150-bed comprehensive cancer hospital in Manipur, aimed at improving access to advanced oncology services in the region. This facility marks the beginning of Reliance Foundation’s long-term healthcare vision for the Northeast.

In collaboration with Mizoram University, the foundation is also focusing on genomics-based breast cancer care, leveraging cutting-edge research to tailor treatment strategies and enhance early detection.

Additionally, a major step in healthcare research is underway in Guwahati, where Reliance has built an Advanced Molecular Diagnostics and Research Laboratory. This center is expected to house one of the largest genome sequencing capacities in the country and will play a crucial role in disease research, diagnostics, and personalized medicine.

Ambani emphasized that these efforts aim to transform the Northeast into a healthcare and research hub, expanding both treatment access and scientific innovation in the region.
