Rainbow Children’s Medicare Limited (RCML), a listed pediatric multi-specialty and perinatal care hospital chain, has entered the Northeast India market by acquiring a majority stake in Guwahati-based Pratiksha Hospital at an enterprise value of ₹171 crore.

RCML will acquire a 76% controlling stake in the hospital — founded in 1995 by Dr. Pramod Kumar Sharma and specializing in IVF and minimally invasive gynecology surgery — while Dr. Sharma and his family will retain the remaining shares. The acquisition will be entirely funded through RCML’s cash reserves and internal accruals.

The addition of the 150-bed facility will expand RCML’s capacity to around 2,185 beds across 21 hospitals in eight cities. Post-acquisition, the hospital will be rebranded as Pratiksha Rainbow Children’s Hospital and integrated into RCML’s national network.

The Guwahati hospital will also be connected to Rainbow’s regional hubs in Hyderabad, New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, ensuring advanced referrals and access to specialized pediatric and maternal care, including tertiary and quaternary services.
