Denmark-based healthcare company Novo Nordisk has partnered with Apollo Clinics to introduce a structured obesity management programme across several Indian cities. The initiative aims to tackle the rising burden of overweight and obesity through a multi-tiered, comprehensive care model.
As part of the collaboration, Apollo Clinics and Novo Nordisk will roll out a framework integrating clinical education, patient-focused tools, and infrastructure support across select centres.
Maya Sharma, Vice President – Clinical, Medical & Regulatory at Novo Nordisk India, said the mission of this partnership is to provide healthcare professionals with the resources they need to deliver personalised, evidence-based interventions that address the root causes of obesity, not just its symptoms.
Apollo Health & Lifestyle CEO Sriram Iyer added that this collaboration highlights Apollo’s long-standing commitment to addressing obesity and related conditions in India.
Obesity affects more than 250 million adults in India and is linked to over 230 health complications, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and obstructive sleep apnoea, according to the company.
