Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road, Bengaluru, has appointed Dr. Prasanna K S as Consultant – Medical Gastroenterology. With over two decades of experience in diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic disorders, Dr. Prasanna brings extensive clinical and research expertise to the hospital’s gastroenterology department.
His proficiency spans advanced endoscopic techniques, including diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, EUS, ERCP, and manometry. Dr. Prasanna completed his MBBS from JJM Medical College, Davanagere (1998), followed by an MD in General Medicine (2002) and DM in Gastroenterology from SGPGI, Lucknow (2007). He has also trained at Apollo Indraprastha Hospital, New Delhi, and KMC, Manipal.
Dr. Prasanna’s clinical interests include liver diseases, pancreatic disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, and functional GI disorders. He has published research in reputed journals and presented at international conferences, with notable work on drug-induced liver injury, varicella zoster cranial polyneuropathy, pregnancy-related liver diseases, and portosystemic myelopathy.
