The Government Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital in Greater Noida, in partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, will launch India’s first artificial intelligence clinic in a public healthcare setting on January 2, 2026, marking a major step toward integrating advanced digital technologies into government-run health services.

The AI Clinic has been established under the Centre for Medical Innovation at GIMS, operating within the Department of Medical Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The centre is the country’s first medical incubator embedded in a government hospital and has been designed to connect clinical practice with innovation and technology-driven healthcare solutions.

It will provide a structured and regulated environment where startups and innovators can collaborate directly with doctors, patients and hospital systems to test, validate and refine artificial intelligence-based tools using real-world clinical workflows.

IIT Kanpur has joined the initiative as the academic ecosystem partner, contributing technical expertise, research collaboration and incubation support.

The partnership brings together clinical insights from a public hospital with academic and engineering strengths to advance AI applications in diagnostics, clinical decision support and healthcare operations, while encouraging responsible medical technology entrepreneurship aligned with public health priorities.
