Fortis Healthcare Ltd. has entered into an operations and management agreement with the Ekana Group to manage a 550-bed greenfield super specialty hospital in Lucknow, marking a significkanaant step in its Uttar Pradesh expansion.
The upcoming hospital, strategically located near Gomti Nagar and developed by the Ekana Group, will serve as a Centre of Excellence for tertiary care services. Once functional, the facility will provide advanced medical infrastructure and global-standard practices to the state capital.
Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, MD & CEO of Fortis Healthcare, said, “We are pleased to collaborate with Ekana Group to establish a world-class healthcare facility in Lucknow. This will be our third hospital in Uttar Pradesh, alongside our Noida and Greater Noida units, and further reflects our mission to deliver high-quality healthcare across the state.”
Currently, Fortis operates 33 facilities across 11 states, offering more than 5,700 operational beds and a network of 400 diagnostic labs. The collaboration with Ekana Group will strengthen Fortis’ integrated healthcare delivery model while addressing the growing demand for specialized tertiary care in Tier 2 cities.
Ekana Group promoter Uday Sinha highlighted, “This alliance will greatly improve access to advanced healthcare and ensure that patients in Lucknow and surrounding areas receive world-class treatment close to home.”
The Lucknow project underscores Fortis’ strategy to enhance its footprint in emerging urban centers where healthcare demand is rapidly increasing with urbanization and rising income levels.
