Apollo Hospitals has entered a partnership with Coal India Limited to provide quality healthcare services to more than 2.5 lakh employees, 5 lakh pensioners, and their families across India. The initiative aims to improve access to comprehensive medical care and preventive health programs through Apollo’s 44 hospitals nationwide.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Chennai, marking a historic collaboration between the two organisations. The partnership reflects Coal India’s commitment to the welfare of its workforce, which contributes to nearly 70 percent of the country’s energy production. Under the agreement, medical treatment for employees and retirees will be provided on a tariff basis, replacing the previous system based on CGHS rates.
The program ensures more affordable and accessible healthcare through a cashless medical treatment system, supported by an integrated referral and billing process between Apollo Hospitals and Coal India’s medical departments.
Beyond treatment, the collaboration places strong emphasis on preventive health screenings and community wellness programs. These initiatives aim to enhance workforce productivity while safeguarding the long-term health of coal employees and their families.
The partnership represents a model of industrial leadership combined with social responsibility, aligning healthcare improvements with broader national initiatives for public welfare.
