Apollo Clinic, one of India’s leading multi-specialty healthcare chains, has further expanded its footprint in Tamil Nadu with the inauguration of a new facility in Chennai’s bustling Velachery neighborhood.
The modern, interdisciplinary clinic is envisioned as a comprehensive healthcare destination—offering specialist consultations, advanced diagnostics, preventive health check-ups, and a fully integrated pharmacy under one roof. Backed by expert physicians, cutting-edge technology, and a dedicated team of trained technicians and support staff, the Apollo Clinic Velachery stands as a state-of-the-art center committed to excellence in patient care.
Spanning 4,000 sq. ft. across three floors, the new facility reflects Apollo’s continued commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare in spacious and modern environments. The Velachery launch marks Apollo Clinic’s 30th center in Chennai and the 500th globally, extending the network’s presence to international locations including Dubai and Bangladesh. Collectively, Apollo Clinics serve more than 12,000 patients every day, offering a wide spectrum of services—from minor wound treatments to outpatient procedures—supported by over 3,500 qualified doctors operating across its facilities nationwide.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group, emphasized the growing need for preventive care, stating,
“With Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) accounting for 65% of all deaths in India, the need for preventive care has never been more urgent. Research underscores the importance of proactive strategies in avoiding and managing NCDs. This new clinic marks a significant step forward in our mission to bring healthcare expertise closer to the people — serving as a trusted health partner for families across the region. We are committed to delivering integrated, patient-centric care that is high-quality, accessible, and affordable for the communities of Chennai.”
Further strengthening its leadership in preventive health and cardiac care, Apollo also launched a breakthrough heart health screening package during the inauguration. The highlight of this initiative is the LP-PLA2 (PLAC) Test—an advanced diagnostic tool that helps accurately assess an individual’s risk of developing atherosclerosis, the dangerous buildup of fatty plaques within arteries. This cutting-edge screening aims to empower individuals with early insights into heart health, reinforcing Apollo’s mission of promoting proactive, preventive care.
