Apollo AyurVAID, a pioneering chain of next-generation, precision Ayurveda hospitals and a member of the Apollo Hospitals Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vivekananda Yoga University (VaYU), USA — the first Yoga university outside India dedicated to graduate education and research in Yoga, and licensed by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE), State of California, USA. VaYU offers online MS and PhD programs in Yoga therapy and philosophy and is the only Indian Knowledge Systems university to achieve candidacy accreditation from the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

This collaboration aims to make high-quality, accredited continuing education in Yoga, Ayurveda, and Integrative Medicine accessible worldwide.

Under the MoU, Apollo AyurVAID and VaYU will jointly develop academic programs, training, upskilling, and evidence-based research in integrative medicine. The partnership will also offer best-in-class clinical internships and foster global outreach opportunities in Ayurveda and Yoga.

Commenting on the collaboration, Mr. Rajiv Vasudevan, Founder, MD & CEO, Apollo AyurVAID Hospitals, said:

“This partnership with VaYU marks a transformative step in advancing our mission of delivering credible, evidence-based Ayurveda care integrated with Yoga. By combining VaYU’s expertise in yoga education and research with Apollo AyurVAID’s national quality award winning protocols driven, precision Ayurveda medical management, we are building a powerful platform that creates new pathways for global learning in Indian health sciences. Together, we will develop and offer precision Ayurveda, Yoga and Integrative Medicine training courses through degree and certificate programs that will be made available to the global community through VaYU. This collaboration shall equip the next generation of healthcare professionals and accelerate the mainstreaming of scientific Yoga and Ayurveda.”

Dr. Sree N. Sreenath, Founder President, Vivekananda Yoga University, added:

“Our collaboration with Apollo AyurVAID represents a unique opportunity to bridge academic excellence with clinical expertise. Through this partnership, VaYU students will gain first-hand experience in Ayurveda and Yoga clinical care at Apollo AyurVAID’s centres across India, enriching their learning through immersion, observership, and internship programs. Equally important, we will work together to organise outreach initiatives including seminars, conferences and lectures that bring the Indian knowledge systems of Yoga and Ayurveda to a wider audience. This partnership strengthens VaYU’s mission of combining scientific rigor with ancient wisdom while expanding opportunities for our students and communities worldwide.”

The partnership will also focus on capacity building by providing Apollo AyurVAID staff with specialized training in yoga therapies through degree and certificate programs. Furthermore, new Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine training courses will be co-developed and delivered globally via VaYU’s academic platform or in collaboration with third parties. The MoU will leverage advanced technologies and innovative practices to ensure rapid dissemination and scalable outcomes.
